Pier 6 Redevelopment
The redevelopment of Pier 6 on the Sunset park waterfront is crucial to support the public space and operations of the adjacent Bush Terminal Piers Park and the upcoming Made in NY Campus at Bush Terminal.
NYCEDC plans to stabilize and redesign Pier 6 to serve as a public amenity for the neighborhood, visitors, and workers at the Made in New York Campus. The redesign aims to:
- Stabilize the pier to enable safe waterfront access and use for both the neighborhood and the Made in New York Campus
- Honor and celebrate the site’s rich industrial and ecological history
- Create a sustainable and resilient public waterfront
The goal for the redeveloped pier is to serve all members of the Sunset Park community and visitors and employees who frequent the Made in New York (MiNY) Campus. In early 2024, we will be hosting a series of roundtable conversations with different groups before launching the full public process.
