Food lovers, it’s time to gather in the Bronx! NYCEDC is seeking an event organizer to organize and operate a food-related public event in the New Fulton Fish Market parking lot in Hunts Point to draw attendees from the local community, the Bronx, and the rest of the city.

The Hunts Point Peninsula, with its vibrant history of street food vending, its unique recreational setting and its breathtaking waterfront views, provides an ideal locale for a culinary-centric event. Building on the momentum of food festivals around the City, the event organizer will plan and execute an event that can include, but is not limited to:

  • Food trucks
  • Pop-up stands
  • Prepared foods stands
  • Restaurants, food retailers or food-related vendors
  • Cooking demonstrations
  • Agricultural education
  • Nutrition education

NYCEDC is seeking creative event proposals for a one-day event or longer that can be carried out as soon as fall 2012, at an approximately 4.5-acre portion of the New Fulton Fish Market parking lot. Concepts and/or vendor line-ups that showcase locally-based food producers, food vendors, and community partners are encouraged.

The event organizer will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and operation of the event. For details, view the RFP.
