NYCEDC Launches Global Business Exchange with Milan
First Exchange Program since Paris to Launch as Part of the NYCEDC Global Business Exchange
At the World Trade Week Awards Breakfast earlier this week, NYCEDC President Maria Torres-Springer announced the opening of applications for the NYCEDC Global Business Exchange — Milan. The Exchange, in partnership with the City of Milan, will build on the successes of the original Exchange with Paris to link New York City-based startups with cities across the world to attract top-notch business and talent to New York City.
In its first ever study of economic innovation, City Initiatives for Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CITIE) named New York City #1 in the world for a public policy ecosystem that is supportive of startups. Placing ahead of London, Helsinki, Barcelona, and Amsterdam, New York City’s long-term investment in tech appears to have paid off.
With the success of the first iteration of Take the H.E.L.M.: Hire + Expand in Lower Manhattan, we are excited to announce that we will be relaunching the program! To encourage the continued growth of Lower Manhattan, Take the H.E.L.M. will award four $250,000 cash grants and four $50,000 cash grants to companies looking to move or expand into Lower Manhattan.
