The Manhattan Waterfront Greenway is an important open space resource for the city, providing access to the shoreline for a variety of activities, integrating larger parks within a connected network, and providing a bicycle transportation facility for recreation and commuting.

Memorials in NYC

New York City has approximately 250 war memorials in its parks and in other spaces managed by the Parks Department. Built between 1818 and 2007, these monuments memorialize conflicts from the Revolutionary War to the Vietnam War.
