ConstructNYC is designed to connect small minority-owned, women-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises (MBE, WBE, and DBE, respectively) with exclusive opportunities to work on selected projects either directly for NYCEDC or through NYCEDC retainer CM contracts as sub-contractors.
The Money Matters Workshop is a special program for M/W/DBE construction contractors sponsored by NYCEDC, BOC Capital, and Columbia University. Applicants will learn to better manage the financial side of their business, including how to evaluate projects from a cash flow perspective, build credit, and access the financing that they need to grow.
Through Opportunity M/W/DBE, NYCEDC helps minority, women-owned and disadvantaged businesses enterprises (M/W/DBE) grow and overcome challenges that may make it more difficult to win contracts and work on NYCEDC projects.
Be persistent. Complete the application and then follow-up to see if it has been accepted. Major CMs will have at least one staff person in charge of M/WBE outreach or community affairs. Find out who this person is and reach out to them and let them know you are trying to get work with them.
