This Industrial Business Advisory Council (IBAC) was one of the 22 initiatives announced in June of 2011 that was designed to strengthen the city’s industrial sector and help small industrial businesses stay and grow in New York City. In total, the programs helped revitalize, modernize, and preserve up to 9 million square feet of underutilized industrial space. The Industrial Advisory Council was a critical voice in guiding New York City's and NYCEDC's industrial efforts.
Today we announced the six finalists of New York’s Next Top Makers, a competition to promote innovation in New York City. The finalists – Nautilus Bowl, The Power Clip, MYBELL, Tangeez, Bonus Table and Slide Table – were chosen by a panel of judges and by a public, online vote.
The Industrial Business Advisory Council, a cornerstone of the Bloomberg Administration’s initiatives to support the industrial sector, is set for its first meeting on August 1. This advisory body will ferment the working relationship between industrial businesses and the City agencies and policies that support them.
