In partnership with Speaker of the New York City Council's office and the Harlem African Burial Ground Task Force, NYCEDC has launched a community-based planning process for the redevelopment of the former East 126th Street MTA Bus Depot.
La Marqueta in East Harlem has always bred cultural pioneers and business innovators. This summer, NYCEDC is working with city partners to restore the market, refresh the neighborhood, and bring it back to its former vitality.
The City invested in an approximately 4,000-square-foot commercial kitchen in East Harlem’s La Marqueta. The facility provides shared workspace for up to 40 food manufacturing startups and expanding food businesses.
Construction started on the East Harlem Media, Entertainment and Cultural Center-the first phase of a 1.7-million-square-foot, mixed-use development. The project will include 30,000 square feet of dedicated community and cultural space, more than 600 affordable housing units, a public plaza, new office and retail space, and a hotel.
