NYCEDC shares information, images, and video with the public through external social media sites.
Comments made by the public on these sites are reviewed by NYCEDC. While NYCEDC will not edit comments, we may delete a comment if it:
- Does not directly relate to the posted topic on the social media page or post
- Promotes or advertises a commercial product or business
- Uses obscene, threatening, or harassing language
- Is a personal attack or hate speech that targets or disparages any ethnic, racial, age or religious group; gender; sexual orientation; or disability status
- Advocates illegal activity or violates copyright laws
NYCEDC social media accounts are not meant for comments that do not directly relate to the purpose or topic of the social media website or for service requests. For general comments or communications concerning NYCEDC, please visit our Contact Us page.
You are subject to the Terms of Service (TOS) of the host site. Information (photos, videos, etc.) you share with or post to NYCEDC social media pages is also subject to the TOS of the host site and may be used by the owners of the host site for their own purposes. Why do you moderate comments?
Our goal is to provide a substantive forum to encourage the exchange of information. We want our users to be able to voice their opinions and reactions to posted information. Obscene language, hate speech, solicitations, and off-topic posts will be moderated in accordance with our Customer Use Policy.
Do you edit comments?
Comments are never edited. However, NYCEDC reserves the right to delete a comment if it violates our Customer Use Policy.
When and where will my comment display?
Comments will display immediately after they are posted in the comment section of the social media site. NYCEDC does not moderate comments prior to posting.
What about user-created content?
Users are welcome to submit or post content, including photographs and videos, to NYCEDC social media sites where we allow users to post content, if the content meets the standards articulated in this Customer Use Policy and if it pertains to the subject of the social media site. Users may only post their own, original content. Reproduced or borrowed content that reasonably appears to violate third party rights will be deleted.
