The Coney Island Amphitheater will be a seasonal concert venue with approximately 5,000 seats and 2.41 acres of outdoor space.

Founded in 1980, CIUSA strives to bring uniquely American visual and performing art forms back to Coney Island, returning it to a center for live art with an entrepreneurial spirit. Their focus is on the cultural traditions of P.T. Barnum, dime museums, burlesque, circus sideshows, vaudeville, and Coney Island’s own mass culture. In addition, CIUSA provides an international forum for cultural preservation and discourse.

The Funding Recipient, Seaside Park LLC, is a limited liability company jointly owned by Coney Island USA(CIUSA), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit arts group, and Coney Entertainment LLC. Coney Entertainment LLC is controlled by iStar Financial.

CIUSA’s programming, produced and presented at both the Coney Island Museum and at Sideshows by the Seashore, draws visitors from New York City and beyond who are interested in a range of cultural experiences. The organization’s signature activities include the Mermaid Parade, the Coney Island Circus Sideshow, the Coney Island Museum, as well as other theatrical work.
