About the Community Healthcare Network
The Community Healthcare Network project is intended to double the size of the Dr. Betty Shabazz Health Center, from 3,560 to 7,160 square feet. This project will help the center expand upon its healthcare services for the entire community. As a stand-alone health center, the total renovation of the building does not include space shared with other organizations or businesses.
Community Healthcare Network (CHN) is a not-for-profit organization that provides access to quality, culturally competent, and comprehensive community-based primary care, mental health care, and social services to underserved New York City communities. The Dr. Betty Shabazz Health Center was founded in 1957 for comprehensive adult and pediatric primary care, family planning, HIV testing and treatment, nutrition counseling, health education, behavioral health, and other ancillary and supportive services.
