Digital Health Breakthrough Network
The Digital Health Breakthrough Network offers rapid validation for early-stage health tech startups by enabling them to collaborate with NYC-based healthcare providers quickly and affordably.
Operated by HITLAB, a healthcare innovation lab and NYCEDC’s program partner, the Digital Health Breakthrough Network will allow startups to source small-scale but powerful pilot studies from participating Network sites. In a fraction of the time currently possible, these studies will help produce the data necessary to refine prototypes or seek early clients and investors.
Over the next decade, the Network aims to directly create 1,000 jobs by putting eight health tech startups per year on a faster track to becoming viable businesses.
This initiative complements the Digital Health Marketplace, which allows later-stage, enterprise-ready companies to gain access to new customers and close deals in their sales pipeline.
The program aims to:
- Encourage the diffusion of new technologies to improve clinical care, reduce costs, and improve the competitiveness of NYC hospitals, health systems, payers, and clinics
- Assist healthcare technology companies in building long-lasting relationships with NYC healthcare stakeholders
- Lay the groundwork for the creation and growth of new businesses in NYC
