Wednesday, November 5: NYCEDC Presents the 2014 NYC Development Finance Conference 

Conference Brings Not-for-Profits, Developers, Lenders and Other Industry Experts Together to Discuss Tools for Innovative Economic Development Throughout the Five Boroughs

Full Day of Programming Includes Panels, Workshops, and Remarks by NYCEDC President Kyle Kimball, Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development Alicia Glen, and HPD Commissioner Vicki Been

New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) will host the 2014 NYC Development Finance Conference on Wednesday, November 5, at Four World Trade Center. The signature event is designed to focus on tools and strategies needed for economic development in all five boroughs of New York City. Nationally-recognized panelists and keynote speakers from the public, private and non-profit sectors will share best practices and strategies to inform how development finance can be implemented to help businesses and nonprofit organizations create quality jobs and combat economic inequality in New York City.

“From developing new building typologies to growing the tech sector and making infrastructure improvements, developing smart, effective and innovative financing strategies is essential to meaningful economic development,” said NYCEDC President Kyle Kimball. “Over the years, the NYC Development Finance Conference has become a highly influential event in New York City, providing an opportunity for a diverse cross-section of the City’s leaders and thinkers to come together and discuss the tools with which we can build the future of New York City.”

The Conference will be highlighted by opening remarks by NYCEDC President Kyle Kimball, a morning keynote on the de Blasio Administration’s economic development priorities by Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development Alicia Glen, and an afternoon keynote on the current and future state of housing from Vicki Been, Commissioner of the Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Additionally, the day will include over 20 event speakers and panelists from top public and private institutions in the development industry, discussing key issues including attracting capital, innovative tax credit projects, housing development, infrastructure investment and the New York City's industrial landscape.
