This year's NYC BigApps, the nation's largest municipally-supported civic innovation competition and a flagship program of the NYC tech ecosystem, awarded over $100,000 in prize money to ingenious tech solutions that help solve some of New York City’s most pressing challenges.
Last week, the NYC Office of Financial Empowerment, in partnership with the Urban Future Lab and NYC BigApps, hosted a learning and networking event to discuss some of the biggest barriers to economic mobility faced by low-income New Yorkers.
History was made in NYC on July 6, 2013, when Solar Impulse landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport, becoming the first aircraft to fly across the United States using only solar power. The Solar Impulse will be on display free to the public this weekend at JFK Airport.
