World To NYC Launches New Manufacturing Challenge

In partnership with New York International, we are pleased to announce the latest version of World to NYC: the Global Industry Challenge. With a new focus on industry, instead of a specific country, World to NYC will host two new delegations in New York City as part of the challenge.

Applications are now open for the first delegation, the New Manufacturing Challenge. This round is open to companies active in new manufacturing, which is defined as the convergence between software and the physical world, the rise of 3D printing, and the omnipresence of connected devices.

Innovative manufacturing tech companies are encouraged to apply by March 31 for a chance to explore NYC's unique manufacturing tech ecosystem. Fifteen chosen companies will be notified in mid-April and invited to visit New York City on May 12-14, 2014. Applicants from across the globe are encouraged to apply.

The second delegation is scheduled for Fall 2014 and will include companies active in clean tech.

For more information on World to NYC, visit their newly-launched World to NYC website. Interested parties are also invited to leave comments on the site around the designated focus topics.

How can NYC leverage the opportunity of new manufacturing? We look forward to hearing your ideas.
