Augury Systems receives the People's Choice Award.

Ninety seconds.

That's how much time each of the fourteen innovative Israeli high-tech startups had to pitch their business to a packed audience of investors, industry insiders, and press at Israel to NYC. At stake was a prize package that would assist the companies with their expansion to NYC including $10,000 worth of professional services, complimentary office space at  the US Israel Business Council's (USI) new co-working facility for six months, a free class at General Assembly, and press coverage.

Israel to NYC is part of NYCEDC's ongoing World to NYC initiative, which promotes trade and investment between New York City and the global economy by hosting international business delegations to help them expand their businesses in New York City. In partnership with the US Israel Business Council (USI), Israel to NYC selected 14 participants out of a record-high 168 applicants for last week's tech and business tour. The presentations topped off an intensive week full of meetings, workshops, networking, site visits, and panels on everything an international company needs to know before launching business operations in New York City.

The People's Choice Award was given to Augury Systems, heralded as the “Shazam for engines,” for receiving the most positive feedback from the panel of judges and the audience during the closing reception. Their solution can diagnose problems with building engines and machinery using a smart phone and off-the-shelf acoustic sensors – a strong solution for a market like NYC’s landscape of skyscrapers.

After winning the award, Saar Yoskovitz, CEO and Co-Founder of Augury Systems noted that the Israel to NYC program was a ”great opportunity” and “it advanced Augury’s expansion to NYC by more than a year.” Other contenders/delegates included AdCore, Brayola, Cellepathy, Choozer, Connesta, Curiyo, Fashioholic, Roomixer, Seebo, Senexx, TotalBoox, Viewbix, and Zazma.

“NYCEDC and USI did a mitzvah," said Amit Manna, Co-founder & COO of Fashioholic. "The trip was a huge success in helping all of us all get a grasp of what it takes to move to NY and why it's worth it.”
