ConstructNYC Applications Open

 |  NYCEDC

A proven game-changer for independent construction firms, ConstructNYC is once again accepting applications for firms to work on city projects. Interested companies should apply now to prequalify for the program.

Launched in 2016, ConstructNYC awards NYCEDC construction contracts of up to $2M to minority/women-owned and other disadvantaged business enterprises (M/W/DBEs), levelling the industry playing field and creating good jobs. Selected firms receive on-the-job technical assistance, training from the Business Outreach Center, and other perks to ensure their success both during the construction phase and after the project has been completed. Since its launch, ConstructNYC has spearheaded projects like the Made in NY Campus in Brooklyn, the South Street Seaport in Manhattan, and the St. George Theatre on Staten Island.

ConstructNYC gets results:

  • To date, ConstructNYC has awarded more than $17M in contracts to 41 M/W/DBEs.
  • Participating firms saw an average 24 percent increase in revenue after partnering with ConstructNYC, versus 13 percent before joining the program.
  • Firms working through ConstructNYC saw their number of projects increase by 32 percent in the year after entering the program—a gain of 115 projects.
  • ConstructNYC firms hired an average 71 employees in the year after entering the program, compared to 37 the year before.
