The Hive at 55 offers media professionals co-working affordable workspace, a variety of office amenities, and a community of like-minded professionals eager to collaborate and share resources.
The lack of affordable, flexible workspace can limit the growth of startups and freelancer work in New York City. To address this issue, NYCEDC partnered with the Downtown Alliance to launch an incubator for early-stage startups and media freelancers at 55 Broad Street in Lower Manhattan.
The Hive at 55 is a 5,000-square-foot shared workspace for approximately 50 workers at any given time. The Hive is enabled with WiFi; fax, printer and copier machines; conference rooms; bike storage; and other amenities designed specifically for the freelance and startup community. Membership fees are flexible and range from daily drop-in rates to monthly rates.
