China to NYC's first delegation visited New York City from April 16-23, 2011. The delegation was comprised of 40 companies either looking to establish a base in the United States or looking to create a strong business network and increase their business activities with American companies.
Over five days, NYCEDC hosted a program of events specifically designed to create new business opportunities for China-based companies by leveraging direct introductions to New York City’s business community leaders, including representatives from the media and technology, fashion, green technology, start-up, and financial services industries. Program events included business receptions, tours of business districts and office spaces, workshops on a variety of topics including finance, legal, and green economy developments, networking events, and targeted meetings based on the industry breakdown of the delegation.
NYCEDC partnered with China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) on the China to NYC program. CEIBS was responsible for recruiting all of the program’s 40 delegates and coordinating travel and visa requirements.
