The CFDA Fashion Incubator is designed to support the next generation of fashion designers in New York City.
In partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Newmark Holdings, NYCEDC launched the CFDA Fashion Incubator to support the next generation of great designers in New York City. NYCEDC is providing the CFDA with a three-year, $200,000 grant to help establish the Incubator, with the goal of it being self-sustaining after the three-year period.
At 209 West 38th Street, the Incubator is located in the heart of New York City’s historic Garment District. Within the Incubator, each company has a separate state-of -the-art design studio providing both work and showroom space. Designers will be offered a 2-year lease at a below-market rental rate.
The CFDA Fashion Incubator will also provide a creative professional environment to foster promising fashion talent, and help selected designers grow and sustain their business. By offering low-cost design studio space, business mentoring, educational seminars, and networking opportunities, the program provides a way for participants to reach their full potential and become an integral part of the New York fashion community.
