Best for NYC

Inspiring and equipping businesses to improve job quality, invest in communities, and protect the environment across all five boroughs.

Best for NYC inspires and equips New York City businesses with the tools to measure and improve business practices that strengthen their bottom-line and improve quality of life for all New Yorkers. Companies qualify to be Best for NYC after taking the Best for NYC Challenge, an impact benchmarking tool developed by B Lab.
During this inaugural year of Best for NYC, 1,200 businesses have started to measure their impact, over 400 businesses completed the Challenge, and 200 businesses completed the B Impact Assessment. Across the five boroughs, among various industries and company sizes, business leaders are standing together to redefine the role that business plays in New York City.

Check out this video to see how people are demonstrating that good business works — for a business’ bottom line, for people, and for our city.

Congratulations to the 2015 Honorees!

Best for NYC Honorees - the 101 businesses earning top scores on the assessment - were recognized by B Lab and celebrated by the City in an evening awards ceremony on May 3, 2016. View the full list of Honorees, Finalists, and all other participating businesses published by B Lab.

Relive the night with photos from the awards ceremony and read the press release for more details on this year’s campaign. Ready to join in? All New York City businesses will have the chance participate in the 2016 Best for NYC campaign beginning this fall.
