NYCEDC has numerous properties in its portfolio that provide large spaces essential for set production, film and television production, photo shoots, art installations, parties, and other events.

Film Incentives

New York State’s 2010-2011 Executive Budget includes a multi-year agreement to extend New York State’s Film Production Tax Credit Program for an additional five years and expand the Program to include a New York State Post Production Credit. The New York State Post Production Credit was created as an incentive to encourage post production in New York for projects produced outside of New York or that do not otherwise qualify for the New York State Film Production Tax Credit. Eligible productions that complete 75% of their post production in New York State can now apply for a 10% credit for such post production work.

Requirements For Temporary Use Permits

Film & Event Spaces

  • 600 Food Center Drive

    600 Food Center Drive, built between 1969 and 1970, was one of the original buildings in the Hunts Point Food Distribution Center.

  • Brooklyn Army Terminal Atrium

    The BAT Atrium spans more than 41,000 square feet offering a large light-filled space with unique historical features, including two original rail lines and staggered balconies.

  • Essex St Building B

    Essex St Building B has large clerestory windows and skylights which allow ample natural lighting.

  • Essex St Building D

    Essex St Building D encompasses more than 15,000 square feet with clerestory windows and skylights 20 feet above the floor.

  • Homeport Studio

    The Homeport Studio is a fully outfitted sound studio, currently vacant, consisting of approximately 14,500 square feet. There is an additional 52,000 sf of interior space and 115,000 exterior open space available for use.

  • Jones Walk Coney Island

    Just steps from the Boardwalk, the Jones Walk corridor in Coney Island offers great space for filming and photo shoots with iconic carnival scenes as backdrops.

  • Julia de Burgos Latino Cultural Center

    The Julia de Burgos Latino Cultural Center is intended to be used as a not-for-profit cultural facility for providing the East Harlem community and the general public with classes, workshops, studio and performance space to neighborhood artists and residents.

  • Kingsbridge Armory

    Reputedly the largest armory in the world, Kingsbridge Armory consists of a 180,000-square-foot drill floor spanned freely by pairs of vaulted steel trusses that rise 110 feet above the drill hall floor.

  • La Marqueta Plaza

    The Public Plaza is a 10,000 sf fenced open plaza that slopes up and extends from 115th Street to 116th Street under the Metro North viaduct.
