Hunts Point Landing Special Events

Hunts Point Landing is a new public open space located at the southern end of the Hunts Point peninsula, adjacent to the New Fulton Fish Market. Hunts Point Landing was created from a former street end that served as an informal fishing location, and will include a new fishing pier, a shoreline ecological restoration project, a kayak launch, and passive recreational areas. Located off of Food Center Drive, Hunts Point Landing will be accessible by bus and a network of pedestrian and bicycle pathways that are part of the overall South Bronx Greenway. Hunts Point Landing is approximately one acre and is scheduled to open in August 2012.

Special events like birthday parties, school trips, and other group outings can happen every day in Hunts Point Landing without advance / without a permit, but if you would like to plan an activity there with more than 20 people or reserve a specific area within Hunts Point Landing, please contact Gillian Connell at NYCEDC at 212-312-3735 or gconnell@nycedc.com. Larger events may require an administrative fee and/or other additional requirements depending on the nature of the event. Requests for permission to have your 20+ person event in Hunts Point Landing must be submitted 30 days prior to the event date.  Please plan ahead!

If you want to have amplified sound at your event, you will need a permit from the local police precinct. After you have received permission from NYCEDC to have your event, please use NYPD’s Sound Permit Application.
