Managing Director - Center For Economic Transformation

Ann Li oversees the development and implementation of citywide policy recommendations to strengthen New York’s position as the global business and financial center.

Her work includes implementing initiatives designed to help support New York City’s financial services sector, expanding opportunities for industry growth such as in carbon finance, and encouraging innovative business ventures from around the globe to launch and operate here in New York City.

Prior to joining NYCEDC, Ann worked as a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company, where she collaborated on the Bloomberg-Schumer report assessing the City’s strength as a global financial center and studied issues like immigration policy and litigation risk as factors in market competitiveness. Prior to her tenure at McKinsey & Company, Ann worked at the global consulting firm Oliver Wyman, where she advised financial services institutions on organizational issues and risk management.

Ann is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied at the Wharton School of Business and the School of Engineering, earning dual B.S. degrees with academic distinction.
