We seek undergraduates with an interest in urban economic development as well as graduate-level candidates with MBA, MPP, MPA, MUP, and JD degrees. NYCEDC has tailored programs to help you gain experience.
NYCEDC hosts students for 10-12 week paid internships. We place interns within individual departments where they contribute to a variety of economic initiatives. Our interns can look forward to attending our educational seminar series in addition to events sponsored by the City Government Internship Program. When internships become available, they are available from our Jobs Openings page.
A highly competitive full-time program, the NYCEDC Project Management Program offers unique exposure to our different disciplines and departments. Program participants join NYCEDC as Project Managers and are placed in one of three divisions over a two-year period. Within each division, the participant will gain experience on a variety of projects of the departments. At the end of two years, upon successful completion of the program, participants have the possibility of being placed in departments as full-time employees. Core skills training includes finance, real estate, negotiation, presentation, and general project management, all designed to prepare NYCEDC Project Managers to work effectively across several disciplines. We seek bright undergraduates with a Bachelor’s degree in any field of study with 0-2 years of work experience to join this program.
Applications for the PMP program will be accepted on our website from January 2013 – March 2013. Once the applications are open, they will be available from our Jobs Openings page.
