In the spirit of the Olympics, we're welcoming Latin American tech entrepreneurs to NYC for the very first Latin American-focused World to NYC: LatAm to NYC!
Getting here wasn’t easy—there were over 100 applicants from 11 Latin American countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela) vying for one of the 50 spots in the delegation. Accepted participants represent nearly 40 companies in different fields of technology such as media-tech, mobile-tech, and education-tech.
Starting August 6th, the delegates will spend three days learning more about the New York City tech scene. Events include company tours, panel discussions, lectures, multiple networking events, and attendance to the NY Tech Meetup. Participants will learn about the different facets of successfully bringing their tech company to New York City, from immigration requirements to how to hire tech talent, as well as a comprehensive NYC business culture 101 hosted by a panel of successful foreign entrepreneurs.
We look forward to meeting all the delegates and introducing them to our wonderful city through this intensive program! We hope to show them why—as previous World to NYC delegate Carlos Rozo from Thotz put it—NYC is the place to be:
“Before coming to this program, an office in New York City was just a second option, a 'Plan B.' But after attending this program, we know we will be missing a big opportunity if we don't plan on being here very soon!”
