Real Estate Development
OVERVIEW

NYCEDC stimulates economic growth throughout New York City by encouraging and facilitating real estate development.  We utilize real estate to generate the maximum benefit for the City and its residents.

NYCEDC is responsible for the sale or lease of City-owned property for economic development purposes, specifically to create jobs and generate revenue.  We believe capitalizing on under-utilized City owned property is one of the best ways to catalyze area-wide development.

Since 2000, NYCEDC has garnered more that $1.7 billion in private sector investment and created more than 12,000 permanent jobs on the sale vacant sites throughout New York City.
