The New York City residential market offers variety. Throughout the five boroughs, the City has a wide range of housing options available at varying price points, both for sale and for rent. Mayor Bloomberg has also launched an affordable housing initiative that will introduce 6,000 new affordable housing units into the market by 2013.

Green Residences
Reflecting its commitment to environmentally-friendly development, the City has made great strides in recent years to develop more environmentally-friendly and eco-conscious residential buildings. In 2003, the City welcomed the Solaire, the country’s first ‘green’ residential tower, and others have followed. These green buildings are not only more energy efficient, but they often provide other benefits like improved air and water quality.
