Whitehall Ferry Terminal – Rooftop View

In the Spring of 2005, NYCEDC completed the Whitehall Ferry Terminal project in Lower Manhattan.

  • $158 million approximate total cost
  • Serves 70,000 daily Staten Island Ferry riders
  • Photo-voltaic-powered information systems

This intermodal facility is the Manhattan Terminus of the Staten Island Ferry, which transports approximately 70,000 riders daily.

The upgraded terminal features improved transit access, better pedestrian circulation and a new two-acre public plaza to enhance the ferry riders experience. The interior includes a more functional, climate-controlled environment and state of the art photo-voltaic-powered information systems.
