EAST NEW YORK INDUSTRIAL BUSINESS ZONE
Since 1997, NYCEDC has played a major role in revitalizing the 100-acre East New York Industrial Business Zone (IBZ).

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
  • Borough: Brooklyn
  • $22 million in private IBZ investment
  • 100-acre area
  • 43 industrial and manufacturing businesses
  • 600 permanent jobs created since 1997

Through the sale of 25 formerly city-owned vacant properties to industrial businesses, more than 600 jobs have been created and more than $22 million in private investment has been generated.

In March 2006, Brass Masters Imports broke ground on a 33,000 square-foot facility in the East New York IBZ. The new facility will allow Brass Masters to expand its capabilities, and is expected to create more than 60 construction jobs and 45 permanent jobs.
The total cost of the Brass Masters project is estimated to be $2.7 million.

In total, the East New York IBZ is home to 43 industrial and manufacturing businesses that provide more than 1,000 industrial and manufacturing jobs. Key industrial subsectors represented in the IBZ include steel and metal fabrication, transportation, warehouse/distribution and vinyl manufacturing.
