SUMMARY

New York City Economic Development Corporation (“NYCEDC”), in conjunction with the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (“HHC”), is seeking proposals for the redevelopment and long-term lease of the former Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital building (the “Psych Building”). The Psych Building is located at 492 First Avenue between East 29th Street and East 30th Street, within the First Avenue medical corridor.

NYCEDC and HHC seek proposals to redevelop the building as a hotel and conference center catering to the adjacent medical and bioscience related communities. NYCEDC will also consider other uses compatible with the surrounding scientific, hospital and medical community provided that the proposal meets the goals of the RFP.

NYCEDC and HHC plan to select a developer on the basis of factors stated in the RFP, which include, but are not limited to: the quality of the proposal, experience of key staff identified in the proposal, experience and quality of any team members proposed, demonstrated successful experience in performing services similar to those encompassed in the RFP, and the proposed financial terms.
