Keyspan Ballpark: Night Game from Above
1 of 6
NYCEDC provides a full-scale technical service division whose mission is to channel the City’s capital budget investments into design and construction projects that drive the economy. We manage capital projects, both large and small, ensuring they come in on time, on budget and are of superior design and construction. All of this creates jobs and improves the quality of life. Review a small sampling of the projects we're involved with below.
PIERS & TERMINALS

By revitalizing the City’s piers and terminals, NYCEDC helps to provide enhanced water transportation and recreational areas including waterfront park space and small boat landings. These waterfront projects catalyze economic growth, make the City more livable and promote tourism.

  • Staten Island ferry terminals for DOT
  • Whitehall Ferry Terminal and St. George Ferry Terminal
  • New cruise terminal in Brooklyn
  • Reconstruction of existing cruise terminals in Manhattan

HOW WE WORK
PROJECT DESIGNATION
Many projects come to NYCEDC from City agencies such as the Department of City Planning, Department of Transportation, Department of Environmental Protection and Department of Parks and Recreation or from Borough Presidents, other local elected officials and Local Development Corporations. These agencies often elect to have NYCEDC manage design and construction projects, valuing our experience in maneuvering projects through complex City regulations. In part, this stems from the close relationship that NYCEDC has with these agencies and from our participation on special projects in coordination with these agencies and in coordination with Mayoral initiatives.
PROJECT EXECUTION
Once NYCEDC and partner agencies determine individual project requirements; NYCEDC assembles a skilled design team and construction manager with the specific expertise and experience to complete the project. NYCEDC’s capital division manages approximately two hundred design and construction projects within a broad range of categories.
