New York City Economic Development Corporation (“NYCEDC”) is seeking proposals for the lease of an approximately 112,466 square foot parcel of land located on Block 14260, p/o Lot 1, in the Springfield Garden/JFK Airport section of Queens (the “Site”). The Site is part of a larger City owned parcel, most of which is leased by the City to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for the operation of JFK International Airport. Through this Request For Proposals (“RFP”), NYCEDC is seeking users or developers of industrial space to lease and redevelop the Site for airport, air cargo, and/or parking related uses.
A successful RFP will accomplish the following goals of (1) enabling and enhancing the growth of the City’s industrial base through the redevelopment of the Site, (2) ensuring that uses are compatible with the surrounding community’s needs, (3) creating a financially feasible and economically viable project, and (4) expanding and preserving quality jobs for local residents. NYCEDC plans to select a developer on the basis of factors stated in the RFP which include, but are not limited to: respondent team qualifications and financial capacity, use and design proposal, relationship to surrounding community, economic impact, and rent offer.
