The Muller ARC is located in The Bronx at 555 East 238th Street. The Muller Local Redevelopment Authority (“LRA”) is tasked with the responsibility of submitting an application to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and the US Department of Defense. The application consists of a Redevelopment Plan and a Homeless Assistance Submission.
Muller Army Reserve Center - Reuse Plan (11.7 MB)
Muller Army Reserve Center - Homeless Assistance Submission (1.6 MB)
The final Homeless Assistance Submission will, among other things, include a description of the Notices of Interest received from homeless service providers and other parties. The LRA has completed its solicitation for Notices of Interest and is currently reviewing the submissions.
The Redevelopment Plan is “a conceptual land-use plan prepared by the recognized LRA to guide local reuse of the former military installation”. This document will outline existing conditions and market considerations among other topics discussed therein.
The LRA must periodically make drafts available to the public for review and comment as the LRA prepares the Redevelopment Plan and Homeless Assistance Submission. The LRA expects these documents to be available one more time in the coming months as the documents are completed. This is the first opportunity for the public to comment on these documents. It should be noted that these documents are in draft form and many sections are still be drafted, including the alternatives for the reuse of the facility.
