Tully Construction Signs Property Acquisition in Willets Point
Tully Construction Inc, the largest business in Willets Point, signed a property acquisition agreement with NYCEDC, with an option agreement for land used by Tully Environmental Inc. and as a headquarters facility. The agreement gives the City about 10 additional acres on the 62 acre site. |

Seeking Lending Institutions to Aid Micro and Small Businesses
An RFP was issued to identify commercial lenders and community-based financial institutions for participation in a business loan program created to help small businesses in the City. The NYC Capital Access Revolving Loan Guarantee Program will dedicate $5 million from City capital funds to guarantee up to 50% of eligible loans to businesses with up to 100 employees. All appropriate commercial and community banks and alternative lenders are encouraged to respond to the RFP. |

Connecting Staten Island's Container Port to the National Rail Network
The collective efforts of the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey, NYCEDC and CSX Intermodal have introduced a dedicated intermodal train service on the Staten Island Railroad to and from the New York Container Terminal. By connecting Staten Island's container port to the national rail network, City workers and residents will benefit from less truck congestion on the streets and a dramatic cut in carbon dioxide emissions. |

Restoring Coney Island as a Legendary Amusement Destination
In anticipation of a comprehensive rezoning plan that will enter the public approvals process next year, the City and the Coney Island Development Corporation (CIDC) have been moving forward with efforts to preserve and enhance Coney Island's historic amusement core. In November, CIDC exhibited at the IAAPA Attractions Expo, the world's preeminent amusement industry convention. CIDC gathered information and established industry contacts that will help inform both interim and long-term plans for new entertainment uses in Coney Island. |

Developing a Vision for Staten Island's North Shore
PB Americas was selected to head a consultant team that will study land use and transportation issues on the North Shore of Staten Island. The North Shore Study will create a framework and long-term vision and planning implementation strategy to assure thoughtful and sustainable development for the 3.5-square-mile area of privately- and publicly-owned property. It will also research the potential for reuse of the North Shore Rail right-of-way and other transportation improvements. |
