New Initiative Makes City Development Easier for Contractors
Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg announced five reforms designed to drive down the cost of City construction. The reforms include allowing contractors to collect damages on certain projects for delays, cutting in half the time it takes to process certain change orders, and dedicating resources to develop accurate cost estimates. These reforms are designed to entice more contractors to bid on City core infrastructure projects and other projects such as park, police precinct, firehouse and courthouse development. |
