Strengthening the Financial Services ‘Eco-System’
NYC, in conjunction with the State of NY, has awarded SecondMarket, Inc. and its affiliate, Pluris Valuation Advisors, with a $1.2 million grant from the WTC Job Creation and Retention Program (JCRP) in exchange for creating up to 367 new jobs over the next four years in Lower Manhattan. Increasing their employment could increase the City tax revenue to $11.8 million and State tax revenue to $2.1 million a year. |

Queens Plaza Breaking Ground
Construction began August 3 for Phase I for the Queens Plaza Streetscape Improvement Project. Residents, businesses and commuters alike can expect and will benefit from landscaped open spaces, safer paths for pedestrians and cyclists, and re-aligned traffic patterns that will improve the flow of vehicles over the Queensboro Bridge. |

Creating Jobs in Queens
$100 million in funding has been allocated to fourteen capital projects across the borough of Queens. The projects include infrastructure, traffic mitigation and streetscape improvements within a five-mile vicinity of John F. Kennedy International Airport and LaGuardia Airport and will create nearly 400 new jobs in the borough. |
