Deputy Mayor for economic development Robert C. Lieber, NYCEDC President Seth W. Pinsky, Councilmember Dan Garodnick and Levin Institute President Garrick Utley today announced the placement of 50 former Wall Street workers into 10-week assignments with 50 innovative New York companies as part of Jumpstart NYC.  Created by NYCEDC and SUNY’s Levin Institute, JumpStart NYC is a job training and placement pilot program announced in February by Mayor Bloomberg as part of his 11 initiatives to support the City’s financial services sector and encourage entrepreneurial activity. Program participants will take part in an entrepreneurial “boot camp” at the Levin Institute of the State University of New York, followed by 10-week unpaid placements with New York City start-up companies that could lead to full-time employment.
