Queens Park Opens New Pool and Ice Rink
The largest indoor recreational facility ever built in a New York City park recently opened in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. NYCEDC and the Department of Parks and Recreation opened the 110,000 square foot facility which houses an Olympic size pool and an NHL regulation size ice rink. NYCEDC's Capital Program department managed the design and construction of this state of the art facility. |

Arrival of Major League Baseball Provides Boost to Harlem
New York City Industrial Development Agency (NYCIDA) approved assistance for the development of the first new Class A commercial tower in Upper Manhattan, Harlem Park. The office and retail tower will be home to Major League Baseball's new cable broadcasting system, the MLB Network, and will house up to 2,390 tenant employees. The building will include 513,000 square feet of office space, 58,000 square feet of retail space and will enhance further growth along the 125th Street corridor. |

Converse Steps into Expanded Office Space
Nike subsidiary, Converse, Inc. recently renewed its 23,200 square foot lease at 28 W. 23rd Street and leased an additional two floors totaling 70,000 square feet. Converse will now occupy the top three floors of the 12-story landmark building, which is also home to The Home Depot, Mark Ecko Enterprizes, Interpublic and Mattel. |

Study to Ensure Sustainable Growth on Staten Island
NYCEDC and the Department of City Planning recently selected Urbitran Associates as the lead consultant to advance the West Shore Study, aimed at ensuring future growth is sustainable and meets the needs of a growing Staten Island. The Study Area is nearly 10 square miles in size and covers roughly 12 miles of shoreline and the future Fresh Kills Parks. |
