Take a trip to Brooklyn and you’ll see everything from tree-lined streets and quaint old brownstones, to sleek new lofts and renovated townhouses. Make your way through the borough a little farther and you’ll be able to appreciate the picturesque parks and green spaces. With acres of lush landscape and a peaceful pond, Prospect Park is an urban oasis in Brooklyn.
NEIGHBORHOODS
Take some time to visit a few Brooklyn neighborhoods and you’ll find that each has a distinct character—from the artistic community that thrives in the warehouse spaces of Williamsburg, to the families raising their kids in posh Park Slope, and changing waterfront community of Red Hook. Stay long enough and you can experience all of the eclectic cultures found throughout Brooklyn.
DESTINATIONS
A visit to Brooklyn wouldn’t be complete without a stop by the Brooklyn Museum where you can spend hours admiring African and Egyptian art. For a more natural setting, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden offers world-class plant collections and specialty gardens on 52 acres. In the evening, the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) offers innovative music, dance and drama from one of the oldest performing arts centers in the U.S. Then take a quick trip down to Coney Island and feel the rush of the world-famous Cyclone rollercoaster.
