In 2005, after a competitive RFP process, NYCEDC selected Anheuser-Busch to develop a 186,000 square-foot warehouse and distribution facility in the Hunts Point Food Distribution Center. As a result, Anheuser-Busch retained 322 existing jobs and created almost 20 permanent new jobs and 389 construction jobs.
Anheuser-Busch is also enhancing quality of life in the Hunts Point community by contributing to the creation of public open space and reducing its environmental impact.
Anheuser-Busch is investing $1.6 million towards the creation of a public pedestrian and bicycle connection to the future South Bronx Greenway that will provide expansive views of the Bronx and East Rivers.
Additionally, Anheuser-Busch is operating out of the first industrial building in the Bronx to qualify for LEED certification. And, it is reducing diesel emissions from its entire truck fleet, through the use of biodiesel, CNG and diesel multi-staged filters on its distribution trucks.
