New York City is where innovative ideas come to life. This exciting competition invites you to develop business plans that will be executed in New York City. Sponsored by New York City Economic Development Corporation, this contest can put you on the forefront on NYC’s latest business breakthroughs.
* Please note that executive summary submission dates have been extended to July 1, 2009.
ELIGIBILITY
  • Teams with 3-5 participants
  • Team members must be graduate students or alumni of participating university
  • Each team must have at least one full-time graduate student
  • Preference for business ideas in: Financial Services, Green, Not-for-Profit, Bio-Science, Fashion, Media and Technology
  • Business plans must have a NYC operations and/or marketing component

PARTICIPATING UNIVERSITIES
Top business and engineering universities from Asia, Europe and Latin America – 16 universities have confirmed participation as of March 20, 2009. University recruitment concludes on May 1. 2009.

PRIZE
  • Finalists will receive a free trip to NYC, including airfare and accommodations
  • Finalists will also attend a high-level network event with investors, successful entrepreneurs and members from the academia, government and the business community
  • Winning team will receive a cash prize of $20,000
  • Winning team will also receive access to subsidized office space and business support services to start their venture in NYC
